Center for Research on Immigration and Border Security (CRIBS) of Turkish National Police Academy organizes the Second International Conference on Immigration and Security. The conference will be held in Antalya/Turkey on 12-13-14 October 2017. The theme of the conference will be “Immigration and Integration”, where the integration of the immigrants into the host/destination society will be treated from a multi-dimensional perspective. Integration (from political, cultural, economic, psychological and sociological perspective) is one of the most important aspects of immigration. In this respect, the conference aims to contribute to the immigration and integration literature on both theoretical and practical levels. The conference will bring international actors with a variety of background together to have discussions upon and share experience and knowledge of mass immigrants in general and the Syrian immigrants in particular, in a friendly international context. Thus, an in-depth analysis of integration of immigrants from a multidimensional outlook will result in a fruitful and up-to-date body of literature, which eventually will compose an edited book.
The following themes and topics are encouraged for the conference proposals (The proposed papers which are irrelevant to the followings, or have nothing to do with the concept of integration, will not be taken under consideration):
- Immigrants’ integration into the:
-health care system
-economic system and the economic conditions
-work and labor markets
-financial and fiscal system
- Best practices of
-overcoming the loss of orientation of immigrants
-immigrants’ psychological integration
- The role of the states in the integration of immigrants
- The role of the NGOs in the integration of immigrants
- The role of local governmental authorities in the integration of immigrants
- The importance of international cooperation and the international organizations for the integration of immigrants
- The position and the role of host societies’ peoples in the integration of immigrants
